If you came to these pages it is because one thing led to another and then to another, suddenly to a link and here you are, but without a doubt, it is because of the curiosity that you bring inside (please, don't lose it). As a preliminary note, I invite you to have a hot drink (it can be tea) while you give yourself a few minutes to share and read.

Have you ever wondered what kind of conversations we have?

During the last year, perhaps a bit more, I have had all kinds of encounters that have led me to a series of reflections on sharing, dedicating time to other people based on my own reflections, and the encounter with hand-made work, the last one has allowed me to bridge my thoughts, reflections, experiences and stories with the ones of other people and makes those moments of sharing frozen in time, in those pieces that are created during the meetings with threads, thoughts and some patience.

I have thought about time, the one that dissolves in routine and we see, or not, how it flies. I have thought about productivity, about that need to fit in with everything, to do and accomplish as many tasks as possible in a short time and very well done. I have thought about isolation and the inevitable need to be with other people, many times I find myself in the midst of virtuality interacting with screens and with a vibrant drive to talk to someone different than me and connect live to create possible worlds (utopian, of course, but I like that). I have thought and created, I have filled myself with crochet chains that in the end become dolls or clothes and I have gotten entangled in small stitches, in embroideries on different supports that allow me to write with textile colors. I have also thought that this conversation alone that I am having with these pages could be an encounter with you reader, we could then create a moment of pause, of being, but of being really present with, by and for the other to, for example, share tea time.

At the beginning of 2022, the project began in collaboration with the Imagineering community (Breda University of Applied Sciences) and the province of Noord Brabant (Netherlands), we began to experiment with textile encounters called "Craft Tellers' Rooms" which tried to get closer to voices that are not usually heard and the project continued as part of a personal one that takes shape with the names of: “Dear IMA Diary”

and “Craft Telling”. The meetings have been held in different parts of the province and we have developed topics such as the sense of belonging, identity, leadership, among others. The encounters have allowed us to share spaces that, without hierarchical distinctions, open places for the participants to raise their voices and present their points of view sincerely without fear of being judged.

Bordar-té/ embroider-tea was born with this desire to meet, it is an invitation to share, to tell those stories and experiences that have led us to the place where we are now. Embroidery and weaving facilitate those meeting spaces, in which stories and hand-made work are protagonists, they invite us first to reconnect with ourselves and with what inspires us and then connect with others and the surroundings.

Now we allow ourselves to reach those storytellers by inviting them to tea time, with a kit to embroider a tea bag while sharing space, time and stories. Welcome! and thank you for taking part and sharing the path.

Instructions: Insert one or more strands of the thread of your choice into the needle, knot one end, and carefully stitch the tea bag with whatever inspires you at the moment.

Si usted llegó a estas páginas es porque una cosa llevó a la otra y luego a otra, de repente a un link y acá está, pero sin duda es por la curiosidad que trae dentro (no la pierda). Como nota previa le invito a tomarse una bebida caliente (puede ser té) mientras se da unos minutos para usted, para compartir y para leer.

¿Alguna vez se han preguntado qué tipo de conversaciones tenemos?

Durante el último año, quizá un poco más, he tenido todo tipo de encuentros que me han llevado a una serie de reflexiones en torno al compartir, a dedicarle tiempo a otras personas a partir de mis propias reflexiones y del encuentro con el hacer manual, este último me ha permitido construir un puente entre mis pensamientos, reflexiones, experiencias e historias con las de otras personas y hace que esos momentos de compartir se congelen en el tiempo, en esas piezas que se crean durante los encuentros con hilos, pensamientos y un poco de paciencia.

He pensado en el tiempo, ese que se deshace en el cotidiano y vemos, o no, cómo se va, como lo aprovechamos u olvidamos en cosas que creemos importantes. He pensado en la productividad, en esa necesidad de encajar en todo, de hacer y cumplir con el mayor número de tareas posibles en poco tiempo y muy bien hechas. He pensado en el aislamiento y la inevitable necesidad de estar con el otro, muchas veces me encuentro en medio de la virtualidad interactuando con pantallas y con una pulsión vibrante de hablar con alguien diferente a mí y conectar en vivo para crear mundos posibles (utópico, por supuesto, pero a mí me gusta eso). He pensado y creado, me he llenado de cadenas de crochet que al final se convierten en muñecos o ropa y me he enredado en puntadas pequeñas, en bordados sobre diferentes soportes que me permiten escribir con colores textiles. He pensado también en que esta conversación a solas que estoy teniendo con estas páginas podría ser un encuentro con usted lector/a, podríamos entonces crear un momento de pausa, de estar, pero de estar realmente presento con, por y para el/la otro/a para, por ejemplo, compartir la hora del té.

A principios del 2022 el proyecto comenzó en colaboración de la comunidad Imagineering (Breda University of Applied Sciences) y la provincia de Noord Brabant (Países Bajos), se empezó a experimentar con encuentros textiles llamados “Craft Tellers’ Rooms” que pretendían acercarse a voces que no suelen ser escuchadas y continuó como parte de un proyecto personal que toma forma con los nombres de: “Dear IMA Diary” (Querido diario imaginiero) y “Craft Telling” (Contar desde el hacer). Las reuniones se han llevado a cabo en diferentes lugares de la provincia y hemos desarrollado temas como el sentido de pertenencia, la identidad, el liderazgo, entre otros. Los encuentros nos han permitido compartir espacios que sin distinciones jerárquicas abre lugar a los participantes para levantar su voz y exponer su punto de vista desde la sinceridad sin temor a ser juzgados.

Bordar-té nace con ese deseo del encuentro, es una invitación a compartir, a contarnos esas historias y experiencias que nos han hecho llegar al lugar en el que estamos. El bordado y el tejido facilitan esos espacios de encuentro, en los que las historias y el hacer manual son protagonistas, nos invitan primero a reconectar con nosotros mismos y con eso que nos inspira para luego conectar con los demás y el entorno.

Ahora nos permitimos llegar a aquellos contadores de historias invitándoles a la hora del té, con un kit para bordar una bolsita de té mientras se comparte espacio, tiempo e historias. Bienvenidos/das y gracias por hacer parte y compartir el camino.

Instrucciones: Inserte una o más hebras del hilo de su preferencia en la aguja, anude uno de los extremos y borde cuidadosamente la bolsita de té con aquello que le inspire en el momento.
