Always in the Friend-Zone

Dear IMA Diary,
I did not feel the holidays. Once I was finishing the last homework for ending the year, then I closed my eyes and when I opened them again I was in class again full of homework again, running again, lost in life again.
At the IMA Master we are starting “Implementation Phase”. Have you ever dreamed big? Have you ever had an aspiration that feels impossible but, you feel in flow to get there and suddenly someone open your eyes saying: “Calm down and be realistic”, something like: “I love your feelings and cuteness but, I prefer to be your friend”. YES! Exactly that! I feel like the academy is putting us in the friend-zone, at the beginning everything is perfect, colorful, sweet, they open your door, help you with the chair, take you to amazing experiences, but, then BANG! Friend- zone, “BE REALISTIC”.
What is that supposed to mean? ¿Luego mi realidad no puede ser soñadora? Then my reality cannot be dreamy? NO!
Acceptance principle they said, but not now because time is precious and you have to give us results, results, results. RESULTS!
After throwing everything away and feel relieved I want to tell you (again feeling that someone is here talking to me), that we are starting a project about a project that is a dream and as a dream I want to feel that it could be possible someday somehow (If you have been IMA student you will say: again?), The DREAMY one and only IMA COMMUNITY, a networking place, a blablabla place, a place to inspire and be inspired, to share, to talk and create together. HOW? I don’t know, we don’t know, a bit of collaboration, co-creation and disposition would be nice.
Midyan, Lu, Peter, Ruben, Elma and me (“Imagineers to be”, yes, you can read this with funny voice), are prototyping possibilities to make this project finally sustainable, with non-stops on the way. Next step: Try, try, try. How would we know if something is going to work if we never try at least to realize that the dream was actually a nightmare. Let’s see what happen…
P.s. Will you join a platform where we share innovation topics, news, processes, etc. Where we can exchange knowledge and experiences, where we can networking?
Dear IMA Diary, I am starting to believe that I need that piece of realism that “normal” people have for surviving.
With love, My dreamy soul, Laura
